Mr. Fuentes manages his consulting company AFE EMPRESARIAL. This company develops and implements Wealth Financial Planning for high income individuals, performs due diligences of companies and grants financial assistance to troubled companies and individuals.
Mr. Fuentes was until recently an external advisor of a Mexican bank where he was ViceChairman of the following Committies: Risk, Product, Systems and Audit, and analysing the credit process of the bank. He helped the bank to hire a new CEO.
He worked for TELEVISA from 2011 to 2014. He was the General Director of Cable Companies Integration, being responsible of the integration of the cable companies owned by TELEVISA, implementing synergies and best practices. After that he was the General Director of “Empresas”, being responsible of the development of the market segment “Small and Medium Companies”, where TELEVISA's market participation was almost null. He helped Televisa to hire the VP of Telecommunications.
He was hired to be CFO of IUSACELL (cellular and cable company) until sold 50% of the company to Televisa in 2011.
Mr Fuentes was the Senior VicePresidente of the Commercial Banking Group (“Banca de Empresas”) of BANCOMER -largest bank in Mexico- from 2001 to 2003, managing 26,600 middle and large companies in the country, and representing $5.9 billion dollars of financial resources with a team of 588 employees.
He was the Senior VicePresident of Credit at BANCOMER from 1998 to 2001, where he headed the credit function of the banking areas which managed loans to companies across the country (corporations, middle and large size companies, financial institutions, workout, and government areas). This loan portfolio was worth approximately $10 billion dollars.
In that position Mr. Fuentes:
- obtained $100 million dollars two signatures lending authority -largest amount of credit authority given to an individual in the history of any bank in Mexico and LatinAmerica.
- implemented the “New Credit Culture” throughout the country.
- reduced the response time for clientele loan applications from an average of 54 to 5 days.
- was the Chairman of the Credit Committee, head of the Credit Policy and Credit Training areas.
- participated in credit due diligences of the Bank’s portfolio.
From 1990 to 1998 Mr. Fuentes had other positions in the bank, such as: VicePresident of Credit and VicePresident of Workout. He worked in Banco Nacional de México (BANAMEX) at the Corporate Banking Group from 1985 to 1990.
He was Chairman of the Credit Bureau (Dun & Bradstreet) from 2000 to 2001.
He served as a BOARD MEMBER of Barclays Bank, Transunion Credit Bureau, Dun & Bradstreet Credit Bureau, Arrendadora Banamex, Iusacell, Farmacias Benavides, Credito Familiar, and “Centro de Desarrollo Comunitario Juan Diego, I.A.P.”
He participated in the Kellogg School of Management admissions and in the Investment Committee at Capital Inmobiliario.
